Success at the World Beekeeping Congress – APIMONDIA 2023

September 4th – 8th, 2023, the World Beekeeping Congress – APIMONDIA took place in Santiago de Chile.

 

As part of the congress of beekeeping specialists, there was also a world competition for honey and mead. Several producers from Slovakia participated in the competition. Despite tough competition from beekeeping dominants such as the USA, China, Argentina, and other major beekeeping countries, small Slovak producers succeeded.

Among the successful companies and their products was also the company Včelco, s.r.o., with the following awards:

 

Honeycraft Amorosa – Silver Medal

Včelovna Speciál – Bronze Medal

 

Slovakia has long dominated in terms of mead quality on a global scale. Slovak producers repeatedly receive significant international awards for the quality of their products.

However, the total production of all Slovak mead makers does not even reach the average capacity of a medium-sized winery. In Slovakia, the majority of people still do not know mead despite its centuries-old tradition in our territory.

Apimondia is the World Beekeeping Congress and also the name of the World Federation of Beekeepers.

The Apimondia World Congress takes place every 2 years, each time on a different continent. It is the largest event of its category.
